Installing WordPress on OS X 10.5 server (locally)

  • Hello,

I am unable to find straightforward instructions on how to install WordPress on Leopard server. PHP is easy enough to turn on; my confusion comes from the fact that I can activate MySQL in Server Admin (PHP is easy enough to turn on) but can’t figure out how to create a table. I also had difficulties installing PHPMyAdmin, as well as MAMP, instead of using Server Admin.

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

you install wordpress on any UNIX based os the same way.

but can’t figure out how to create a table

you dont create a table, you create a database. In the case of wordpress, it creates the necessary tables.

Your questions are more along the lines of “how do i set up a webserver” not “how do i install wordpress”.
