Installing wordpress not working (5 posts)

Hi, trying to manually install wordpress, created a database with my hosting control page, have the files uploaded to the root folder of the domain, have tried the 5 minute install both manually configuring the wp-config.php and letting it do it for me, have checked all the details many times and am pretty sure they are correct...
When I try to get up http://mywebsite.net/wp-admin/install.php I get page not found errors.

I have hosting with 123-reg and you can also install wordpress directly as an app, through them, I tried this first off but this did not work either, it would not let me log in through the admin page and the main page was not showing up correctly?

When I spoke to them about it they said that it was the use of sub-folders that was the problem and recommended that a manual install would be better. I have the hosting package on the main domain, with the domain I am trying to install wordpress to mapped to another folder, could there be a problem there? Any ideas would be appreciated! It's probably a silly mistake as I am quite new to wp but I have tried everything else :)

When did you configure the domain name to point to your host?
