    Hi All,

I hope to find an Angel here to help me fix this error that is driving me crazy since weeks !
I admit I am not a software expert and have some limitation, woocommerce plugin fails to install I receive the message

” Unpacking the package…There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.” ( no email received sofar )

I have googled a lot , tried few things like activating debug to get the log, deactivating all plugins changing to twenty twenty theme but nothing works.

I have been trying to change the max limit up to 256m ( now its 128 as the site breaks when I change it )

I have read to activate the debug tool through my plesk panel and when I do that I receive this error here :

” Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 60 seconds exceeded in G:\PleskVhosts\miradesigninteriors.com\httpdocs\wp-admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 613 ”

    At that line there is this $dir = dir( $path );

But the thing is the file and lines are always different!

One last thing I have tried to connect through filezilla and change permissions of mail wp files to 755 or 777 , but after saving it always returns to xxx .
My site is hosted with godaddy economy hosting with Plesk.

Does anyone have an idea if this can be solved easily or should I just give up and get professional paid help ? ( godaddy assistance simply washed their hands off )

Thanks in advance to anyone that is willing to help and let me know if you need infos or further details that I am sure 100 % I have missed .

Ah Last thing I have same issue installing any cache plugin like total cache or Wp cache I am at the dessert !

    Hello @miradesign13,

I see you are facing this issue with installing other plugins as well. So the issue must be with your site somewhere. 🙁

I suggest you try following the suggestions of the following pages…

    https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/there-has-been-a-critical-error-on-your-website/
    https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-critical-error-in-wordpress/#fix-critical-error-without-email

If none of the above works then please try creating a staging site and see if you face the same issue. If your host doesn’t offer that option, we recommend WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

    Hello @miradesign13,

Increasing your max_execution_time may help. Check this out

    Hi @miradesign13

    Thanks for sharing the details.

From the errors you mentioned you’re getting, it seems that your hosting environment setup may not be meeting the WooCommerce Server Recommendations: https://woocommerce.com/document/server-requirements/

So that we can check your configuration and assist you further, would you mind sharing a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”. Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

We’ll look forward to hearing from you and will be happy to assist further.

Hi Guys, thank you so much for your kind reply.

@shaonback2 Thanks I have already tried but the suggestions didn’t help. Also I don’t know how to create a stage site , but I will search online and see if I can make it, will keep you posted

@nazreenexe Thanks but that link you provided is broken for some reasons.

@margaretwporg Thanks for your suppport and I will be happy to share a copy of my site’s System Status , but woocommerce is not installed so how can access to this system Status without the plugin ?

    Hi @miradesign13

Please try following the steps provided in the article below to see if that fixes the max_execution_time issue.

    Hi @maykato

I have followed your advise and increased the max_execution_time to 60 but it didn’t help.

I have then tried to think logical and I wanted to try uploading the woocommerce plugin manually.

So I did the following. :
    1) login to Filezilla and connect to my site through FTP
    2) unzipped the woocommerce plugin into a folder on my computer
    3) I browsed the wp-content>plugins folder , dragged the woocommerce folder ( unzipped ) and dropped there.

Filezilla started to upload all files , in some minutes it was done

    Results : It worked !

    Woocommerce is now installed.

The problem should be investigated , as the critical error when I install certain plugin persists, but I have at least the chance to create and sell my interiors projects now.

Thanks everyone for trying to help and hope my workaround could be useful to someone who is facing like me hard times.

    Kindly Mira
