 * Hi. I’m REALLY new to all this. I’m starting a food blog, but I can’t find anything
   I like. I went with 1and1 as my host, and they have a cool website builder and
   a blog builder thing, but their templates suck and aren’t customizable at all.
   So I downloaded WordPress. I followed the first few steps in the ReadMe file,
   uploaded everything (literally the entire WordPress folder on my Mac) to my website
   via FTP, now I’m stuck. It says to open install.php in my browser, but my browsers
   don’t open php files. I opened it in Espresso, an HTML editor, and the code appears,
   but it’s all Greek to me. I don’t know coding. So I’m stuck. Can someone please
   walk me through this? Thanks a lot.

 * Hi
 * You have to add a line of code into your .htacess file when you host with 1&1.
 * Using FTP, look in the root folder in which you installed WordPress. See if there
   is a file there named .htaccess. If there is you want to edit it. If there is
   not, create an empty text file with that name on your Mac and open it in a text
   editor.
 * Here is the line
    `AddType x-mapp-php5 .php`
 * If on the mac, save and upload to that folder. If editing the file on the server,
   add the line and save it back to the server.
 * Most people have reported that gets WP working for them on 1&1
 * When it says “open install.php in your browser” it doesn’t mean to edit the file,
   it means to type or paste it into your browser address bar and RUN THE FILE –
   navigate to that URL. It will complete the install for you
