# Installing Test Data XML File to Computer

 * Just downloaded and installed WordPress and I want to finish off by importing
   the test data from the WordPress Theme Development Checklist/Theme Unit Test 
   which states:”Download test data: [https://wpcom-themes.svn.automattic.com/demo/theme-unit-test-data.xml](https://wpcom-themes.svn.automattic.com/demo/theme-unit-test-data.xml)(
   updated 01/06/14 16:36 UTC)”. When I click on the link to download it opens as
   a text file. In WordPress Dashboard/Tools/Wordpress/Import WordPress it appears
   to only accept XML files. Am I doing something silly? Any help would be much 
   appreciated.

 * Use WordPress’ import tool (found in the Tools section in the admin) to import
   the XML data. WordPress uses an XML type of data to do imports and exports.

 * That’s my problem bemdesign, when I click to download the XML file it opens as
   a text file. What I am asking is how do I get the XML file downloaded to my computer
   so that I can use the import tool?
    Sorry if I am being a little dumb here but
   I really need blow-by-blow details to achieve it!

 * Right-click on the link for the test data and select “Save link as” or “Download
   link as”.

 * Thank you Senff. I thought I was there but when I imported the XML file I received:
   “
   Sorry, there has been an error. This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/
   invalid WXR version number” – whatever that means as the file is from the WordPress
   website. I have tried a few times with the same result.
