# Installing SSL, will plugins be affected?

 * Thank you in advance.
 * I’ll soon be installing SSL on our website. Is this process known to impact plugins
   at all? I wouldn’t think so, but I never know what’s lurking in plugin files.

 * There shouldn’t be any compatibility problems with any plugins. The only issue
   that I have found common are issues with Insecure Content errors on the websites
   that tend to cause problems.
 * To combat this problem, I would recommend installing either [WordPress Force HTTPS](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-force-https/)
   or [WP Force SSL](https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-force-ssl/).

 * No plugins are necessary for SSL.
 * Use this script:
 * [https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/](https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/)
 * Search for `http://example.com` and replace with `https://example.com`.
 * Clear any cache and you’re done.
