    My php.ini says:

    memory_limit = 128M
    upload_max_filesize = 128M
    post_max_size = 128M
    post_max_filesize = 32M
    max_filesize = 32M

    But when I go to the WordPress tools importer and I want to import a demo.XML file in my wp-content > themes > merchandiser > inc > demos:

    it says:
    Choose a file from your computer: (Max size: 128 B)

    How can I change the 128 B??

  • By the way, the file I’ll have to upload is only 678 kB

    If it says 128B then you have a “M” missing somewhere. Check wp-config.php and .htaccess files, as well as any other place where limits in WP may be imposed/changed.

    Thanks. Couldn’t find it in the 2 files you mentioned, nothing about max files.

    Is there another file (besides php.ini) where I could find it?

    Well, the only remaining place would be theme’s functions.php file. Taken from the wpbeginner.com website

    1: Theme Functions File

    There are cases where we have seen that just by adding the following code in the theme function’s file, you can increase the upload size:
    @ini_set( ‘upload_max_size’ , ’64M’ );
    @ini_set( ‘post_max_size’, ’64M’);
    @ini_set( ‘max_execution_time’, ‘300’ );

    Thanks, found it!!

    Excellent! 🙂
