I just installed Jetpack onto my wordpress website and now none of my pages load including my admin – meaning I can’t even disable/delete your plugin.

I get the following error message when I try to load any page:

“rarepaul.com is currently unable to handle this request.
    HTTP ERROR 500”

I am not very technical and don’t know what to do. Please help asap.

Hi there! Ouch, sorry to hear about that 😭

I checked your site now and it looks like it’s back online now (yay!), but I still can see a connection error. Can you please try cycling your Jetpack connection, by deleting the plugin then reinstalling/reconnecting to WordPress.com?

First, please go to WordPress.com/me and click on the sign out button, to make sure you’re completely logged out of WordPress.com.

Then, to deactivate and delete Jetpack, head to your site dashboard and go to Plugins > Installed Plugins. Once the plugin is completely removed, go to Plugins > Add New to install it, then reconnect.

If you still have issues when you try to connect your WordPress.com account to your site using the Jetpack plugin, please let me know what error shows up and I’m happy to look further into it.

Let me know how you get on 🙂

    Hi Stef,

I’m having the same problem. I can’t even connect to my site any longer or find a way to get into my admin dashboard or login. My site was completely fine until I installed jet pack. I thought it would give me other features to help my site but it ended up removing everything from my site. I was happy with the look of my site before installig but I didn’t realize it would do this.

Can you please help me with this as I had a lot of products and work done on my site and it would kill me to lose it all and start over.

    I appreciate your help.

    Thanks,
    H

    Hi Stef,

I figured it out through my hosting provider’s site to log me in and followed what you said to the other user.

    Thanks,

    Hey there!

Glad you figured it out! Hope you’re all set then 🙂

Feel free to let us know if there’s anything else you need and we’ll be happy to help. Cheers!

Hi everyone, just in case someone had the same issue as me. Site, dead as a doorknob, and the problem seemed to be spreading. First the admin console died, then the blog, next the about page, and then home as well.

I use CPANEL, and am on a VPS, so if you are on a shared host where your privileges are limited, you may need to call your host’s support.

I found two excellent articles, and was able to solve the problem by deactivating all the plugins via the CPanel’s FTP client, logging all the way out of wordpress.com like advised here, then installing the jetpack with all other plugins deactivated. It will soon be apparent if a conflict with another plugin is what is at issue.

And–if your issue happens to not be plugin related, this one.

This sure helped me out, as with a VPS I’m up a creek with no paddle. 🙂

    Cheers!

Update: It appears it is my BoldGrid builder which collides with the Jetpack plugin. The choice here is then easy for me. No Jetpack until it is compatible with the Boldgrid builder. It doesn’t appear to be the theme itself, but the building blocks plugin.
