 * I have no problem installing wordpress 2.6 or 2.7 into any of my websites until
   I try to install into a sub-domain.
    After full installation when I go to my
   browser //wp-admin/install.php all I get is a blank page. This only happens on
   my subdomains like [http://recycle.webofferreview.com](http://recycle.webofferreview.com).
   the installation to the main domain worked like a hot knife in soft butter. what
   am I doing wrong? is this a case where ‘localhost’ has to be changed? any help
   please. Michael

 * If you installed, why do you need to visit install.php?
 * If by localhost you mean for DB_HOST, then that should be okay.
 * If you have it installed, then you might need [http://txfx.net/files/wordpress/disable-canonical-redirects.phps](http://txfx.net/files/wordpress/disable-canonical-redirects.phps)

 * Ok Michael H
    I guess I did not make my self clear. I downloaded and did everything
   up to and including changing the wp-config file. I uploaded this to my site via
   dreamweaver ftp. This is where I am stuck. the next step should be [http://recycle.webofferreview.com//Blog/wp-admin/install.php](http://recycle.webofferreview.com//Blog/wp-admin/install.php)
   when I hit enter at this point I get a blank screen with done in the statusbar.

 * If you’ve named your folder Blog, change it to blog.
 * Then try:
    [http://recycle.webofferreview.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php](http://recycle.webofferreview.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php)
 * Also, make sure you are using ASCII transfer mode in your FTP client. I prefer
   FileZilla as it ‘automatically’ detects the transfer mode to use.

 * One more thing
    I placed [http://txfx.net/files/wordpress/disable-canonical-redirects.phps](http://txfx.net/files/wordpress/disable-canonical-redirects.phps)
   into my plugin foler and still not able to finish the installation. by ‘localhost’
   I was talking about the wp-config file which refers to this. my DB is on the
   main domain webofferreview.com Michael

 * Well if you haven’t installed then that plugin isn’t activated. I was recommending
   that if you were already installed and not able to access the blog.
 * Re-read my previous post, please.

 * OK MichaelH,
    I did everything you told me to do. still nothing. I must miss
   somthing because I installed five blogs sofar into my top domains and they work
   fantastic. I have this problem only with my sub domains. am I condemned to change
   all my subdomains into top domains? that will be a lot of work and money too.
   any more Ideas? I really do appreciate your time and help. Michael

 * Don’t understand why you have the problem. Just in case someone else can add
   to this, please list:
 * Host company:
    Host Operating System: Host Web-Server and version: PHP version:
   MySQL Version:

 * Michael H.
    Thank you for your help. I finally figured out what the problem was.
   When I add subdomains in plesk the attributes are at chmod 644. when I ftp’d
   and set those to 755 everything worked. I also found that for the themes editor
   to work I have to set all of those to 777. Maybe this information helps someone
   else sometimes. How do I mark this problem as resolved?
