 * I installed my new blog [http://www.sctlivetheatre.com/wordpress](http://www.sctlivetheatre.com/wordpress)
   this week, and I am very happy with it, but having a couple of problems getting
   it configured.
 * First, my research told me that I needed to be able to edit with CSS in order
   to globally change the color of my post titles. The WP site says that in order
   to do this, you must install the Custom CSS Upgrade, and that the charge is $
   14.97. I finally found the WordPress.com Custom CSS plugin and installed it. “
   CSS Edit” now appears in my Appearance menu on the Dashboard, but there was no
   notice of a charge for an upgrade. Where do I pay the $14.97? How does this work?
 * Here’s another puzzle: In order to join this forum, I entered my username and
   password. That didn’t work. Then I tried to register with another username and
   the same email address I used for the blog. I got a notice that said registration
   was successful and I would receive an email in a couple of minutes–I didn’t receive
   an email. FINALLY, I used a new username and a different email address and did
   receive my password. That’s how I got in here now. It still seems that I should
   be able to use my “regular blog name” to get into the Forums. What’s up here?
 * My WordPress blog is hosted as part of my website [http://www.sctlivetheatre.com](http://www.sctlivetheatre.com)
   package with GoDaddy rather than WordPress. Does this have anything to do with
   it? I’m confused. Thanks in advance.

 * If you have a wordpress.com wordpress you need to ask on their forum as this
   is self hosted wordpress.org forum.

 * I don’t know what you’re saying. My forum is hosted on my own server. Isn’t that
   self hosted? Can anybody give a little more explanation? I thought that was the
   purpose of this forum.

 * Now I am confused as I looked at your website and there is no forum on your wordpress
   if you are taking about this forum that not hosted on your Go daddy account.

 * I do not know any custom css upgrade.

 * Don’t confuse [wordpress.com with wordpress.org](http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/).
   If you are hosting your blog on Godaddy, you can edit anything you like. There
   is no need to install any plugin for this feature.
 * Use your ftp client or your file manager in your hosts control panel and have
   at it. Remember to always make a backup copy of your files prior to edits, and
   always save a fresh copy after customization.
 * [edit] …just looked at your site. It is recommended that you make edits to the
   default (twentyten) theme by way of [creating a child theme](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
 * If that is not an option, you need to properly rename the default theme (twentyten)
   or make sure that you have a backup copy on hand that always reflects your most
   recent customizations.
 * You will, **without question**, loose any and all modifications you have made
   to the twentyten theme when you next upgrade WordPress. The default theme will
   be over-written.

 * The username and password for your blog, wordpress.com, and these forums have
   nothing to do with each other. There is no reason you should expect to use those
   credentials interchangeably.

 * Thank you so much Claton, for answering all my questions and giving me the info
   I need. Obviously, I am new to WordPress, but not to web design. You straightened
   me out! I had no idea that WordPress.com and WordPress.org existed as two separate
   entities.
 * Again, thank you!
 * Now I’m moving again, full speed ahead!
