Installing A Forum On My Website

  • Hi. I recently tried to install a couple forums on my website. Basically, I was just toying around them to see how they function. One problem I noticed is that when I installed one of the forums (Vanilla) it basically became my whole website: when I typed http://www.burstingplethora.com in my browser, only the forum showed up. All of the pages I had created prior to installing the forum vanished. So, I had to uninstall it. What I would like is to install a forum and have it as part of my website (like on a page or something). Can somebody please tell me how to accomplish that. Thank you.

  • I was loking recently and quite liked Simple Press!

Here’s some from a Google Search.

I have installed a forum on my wp site with no trouble.

The wp files went into the root directory but I made a directory called forum and installed it there.

If you try to install both in the root directory, they both have files called index.php – and the last one installed will overwrite the other one unless it is in a different directory.

Look at SMF for a super forum with very heavy support.

    Thanks everybody.
