Installer problem when migrating from local to development/subdomain site | WordPress.org

Everything works fine until I click the “Run Deployment” button on the installer page on the development subdomain site. I see the progress bar moving for a short while – then it stops and I get a Firefox dialog box “Opening installer.php” asking me to open or save the file. The installer.php window is now blank and I never get to progress to step 2.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

PS: I tried an other browser, Google chrome and got the same result.

It doesn’t look like your server is detecting basic PHP request variables. You could try to comment out lines 25-50 in that installer file. But I’m wondering if you have a bigger problem in the fact that your PHP server is not detecting basic params like $_GET which is what prevents the file from downloading…

I would also recommend removing that file from your server as you don’t really want people downloading it. If you need to submit a file you can use the help ticket system, it is going to be more secure. You can’t always trust everyone on the forums 🙂
