Okay, I am a complete newb, I am trying to start a blog and following the steps of other bloggers.

I am registered my domain name (dollarpiggy.com) and host it on hostgator

I installed wordpress using cpanel on hostgator and finished it successfully three times. The problem I keep getting is whenever I try to get on the website using '/wp-admin', I get this message '404 (page not found).

I am using google chrome and I have installed it three times twice through quick installation (cpanel) and once through Fantastico...

Can someone guide me through this process

that is the tutorial I was using to install wordpress however, at the end I don't see my blog layout like it's shown in the video (1:45)

Please someone help me through this process thanks.

Your domain dollarpiggy.com is not hosted at hostgator; it's hosted at GoDaddy.

Ask Hostgator how to point your GoDaddy domain at your hosting account.

I just changed the servers and added the hostgator servers to the domain name from godaddy.com..

I guess now I have to wait an hour or something for it to go through.\
    as this tutorial said.
