 * Hi everyone. I was hoping that someone can answer this question for me as I see
   different answers in different places.
 * I just did a wordpress install following the directions found on this site: [http://wpcandy.com/teaches/how-to-install-wordpress](http://wpcandy.com/teaches/how-to-install-wordpress)
 * It worked, but my question now is: I seem to have more files in my FTP root folder
   than usual. I usually install wordpress using fantastico but for some reason
   it didn’t work, so I had to do it manually.
 * Here are some files I have. Can someone please let me know if anything needs
   to be removed? (These are in my public HTML folder)
    wp-activate.php wp-blog-
   header.php wp-comments-post.php wp-config-sample.php wp-config.php wp-config.
   txt wp-cron.php wp-links-opml.php wp-load.php wp-login.php wp-mail.php wp-settings.
   php wp-signup.php wp-trackback.php

 * Hey wswookie,
 * All those files are required for WordPress to run properly. I would not remove
   any of those.

 * Hi ehoanshelt, even the wp-config.txt? I guess I am just worried about someone
   hacking the site more than normal since the setup was manually and not through
   fantastico.

 * Hey wswookie,
 * That is a hard one to catch in the list. My eye gazed right by it!
 * wp-config.txt should be removed as that is not related to WordPress. Depending
   on the content in the .txt file, it could be a major security risk.
 * Thanks!

 * Hi ehoanshelt. Is there a list of wordpress 4.1 files that should be in the public
   html folder?
 * Thanks again for looking.
