Hello all; Im a newbie with wordpress and im hoping that you can help. Im using wordpress 3.3.1 and MAMP PRO to run the database locally on my laptop. Im supposed to be updating a website so rather than update anything LIVE I figured I would do it locally so as to not ruin anything. My problem is that the website is LIVE currently online and I copied it exact to my laptop to its own sub-directory. The sub-directory is located in the HTDOCS subdirectory of MAMP PRO. The problem im having is that I setup a basic html page with a link to index.php file in the subdirectory of the website im working with…the tree is MAMP PRO -> HTDOCS -> ABC. The wordpress page comes up using the http://localhost:8888/ URL and there is a link on the page http://localhost:8888/ABC/index.php which gives me an ERROR ESTABLISHING A DATABASE CONNECTION. THe MAMP PRO disk location is /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/ and if I change it to /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/ABC it still gives me the ERROR ESTABLISHING A DATABASE CONNECTION
what am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help!
