Installed this theme and now my site doesn’t work

    I installed this theme and now am getting the error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_theme_file_path() in /home2/rlscons/public_html/sailingandsuch.com/wp-content/themes/rife-free/functions.php on line 19

    I can not go back and undo this, I really like this theme but now the site is not functioning at all. Please help!

    Hey 🙂

    It seems you have a pretty old version of WordPress, as this function that error notice mentions were introduced in Wp 4.7 https://developer.wordpress.org/reference/functions/get_theme_file_path/

    Log to your FTP, go to wp-content/themes/ delete rife-free.

    Next login to your admin panel, update your WordPress to atleast 4.9.9.

    Next, you can install Rife Free again 🙂

    Sorry to be needy, but please tell me exactly how to do that? I have only ever logged in by going to sailingandsuch.com/admin but I can’t access that now. I keep getting the user error.

    I tried to reply you just before going away for 2 days, but it seems you didn’t manage to solve your issue.

    I can not give you instructions how to use FTP, as there are many ways to do it, and it also depends on your hosting, so it would be best to contact your hosting provider to help you work with FTP.
