I’ve lost my entire site! I have been working on it little by little for years.

I got a new computer for home and was hoping to work on the site from there. On the new computer, I logged into the backend of my site on the web and thought I needed to download WordPress.org to that specific computer to manage it. After installation, my entire site is gone and replaced with a WordPress placeholder page.

Is there anything I can do to recover my website?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Did you deleted Old site database?

It seem your old site database has been deteted or cleaned.

Ask your hosting provider and download (backup) your old site database and your old site suorcodes. This is firt step to reststore you site.

IF you have old site db and sourcecodes, then comment and continue.

    Good Luck

@duckhai Thank you. I didn’t delete anything as far as I know. The installation seems to have wiped everything clean for the entire site.

I’m contacting my hosting provider to see what they can do.

My hosting provider found a backup of the site and restored it. There were complications, but it looks like everything’s going to be okay.

It would have been very helpful if WordPress had some sort of warning about installation when it’s already installed. This was a disaster.
