Installed latest WP, and posts are in endless redirect loop now

    I have three or four blogs in one host account.

    I created a new post, displayed it on Opera browser, saw the update notice for WP, updated it, and now all the posts in that blog have URLs with endlessly redirecting loops in them.
    http://pertholiveandcoconutwholesaleoil.ikmca.info/edibleoils/great-news

    The other blogs in the same hosting account still work fine because I haven’t updated my WordPress version yet.

    I tried making a test post, and got an error message showing the loop. It had the usual domain/category/upload UPLOAD? This was followed by the whole URL repeated over and over again.

    How can I get rid of the endless loop?

    There are a lot of things that can cause a loop. More often than not I’ll solve loop problems by uploading / overwriting core WP files. Could also try updating / reinstalling from the updates page in wp-admin (I’m assuming the loop does not affect the admin area). Of course, try disabling all plugins as well. I had about 5 of my websites do this to me a couple weeks ago after being migrated to a new server and was able to fix every single on of them by doing these things. If you want I would be happy to look at it for you if you aren’t able to get it working. Just let me know.

    Hi,
    Thanks very much for your reply widemind. There are some things that I don’t understand, but I’ll start off with what I do understand, then contact you for more help if I need it.

    I’m not a night-owl type of person, so I won’t chance ruining everything by trying to make repairs tonight – so look forward to trying your ideas tomorrow morning early.

    Hi Widemind,
    The latest news is good, though I can’t understand what is going on.

    Today all my posts except the last one were working. So I created a test post, and it worked. So I created a blank post, and copied the post from the one that was in a loop into the blank post. The test post worked, so I’ve deleted the troublesome post.

    Now I’ll never know what was the problem, but it’s fixed. Thanks for your help.
