• I installed the plugin and instantly it prevents visiting of posts or pages. Then I add a language, default english_US. Now I have options of settings, where it immediately asks me to fix a setting for posts and pages.

Unfortunately that then alters the menu to last posts or something; ignoring primary selected menu from wordpress. Not only that the home url redirects to sample page…

Do not install this plugin on an existing site!

    Hi
Did you follow at least the getting started: http://plugins.svn.wordpress.org/polylang/doc/polylang-getting-started.pdf

    Hi,

I must admit that I did not. I glanced over the pdf and it seems to cover everything.

However I don’t want to translate every page by hand, especially not on a pre-existing site that already has visitors.

I used the recommended language pack with it that did not work either. Probably needed some extended setting updates as well.

I used google translate plugin and it has a crappy UI but no need to configure settings. It just works out the box.

My rating stands until this plugin works out the box configured at least with one language (preferably english).

Polylang is not a translation tool such as Google translate.

It is impossible to automatically translate your content without an API like Google Translate. So if you don’t want to use this you’ll have to do this manually.

You simply picked the wrong plugin if you want to do this automatically. There is no doc of Polylang that implies that translations go automatically so to me, your review is way out of context…

You don’t go and buy a car and put a negative review when you find out it doesn’t drive itself automatically? **wink**
