installation via fantastico

  • I have just installed wp via fantastico but can’t find any content or theme directories. How do upload a new theme?

  • Using FTP is usually the way to upload theme files from your local machine to your host. See Using_FileZilla.

Thanks, I know that but I can’t access any files in wordpress. The path is upload-fantastico-wordpress-nothing. Within wordpress there is a database script and that’s it.

Somehow I have to access the themes folder to upload a new theme.

Okay then, is your blog working? Do you have a link to that blog?

WordPress themes go in the wp-content/themes folder. Do you see that folder?

That’s not a normal web-server path. Your site install path should be something like /home/yourusername/public_html/wordpress/

and the generated URL should look something like http: // www. yoursitename. com / wordpress / (with your specific info inserted, and minus the spaces).

Thanks guys. Now I understand the problem and can track it.
