# Installation problem – Warning: Unknown

 * Hello all,
 * So I must be missing something but I can’t seem to figure out what. When I go
   to my install page at [http://www.dihybridcross.com/propaganda/wp-admin/install.php](http://www.dihybridcross.com/propaganda/wp-admin/install.php)
   I get this:
 * Warning: Unknown(/home/dihybrid/public_html/propaganda/wp-admin/install.php):
   failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
 * Warning: Unknown(/home/dihybrid/public_html/propaganda/wp-admin/install.php):
   failed to open stream: Permission denied in Unknown on line 0
 * Warning: (null)(): Failed opening ‘/home/dihybrid/public_html/propaganda/wp-admin/
   install.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in Unknown on
   line 0
 * I’ve checked that I installed my database correctly and according to the material
   my host provides I did. But it’s hard to say, since the instructions for installing
   didn’t include anything about vdeck.
 * Any ideas?

 * I don’t know how you put the files on the server, but it sounds as though the
   web server process doesn’t have permission to read the install.php file. Check
   to make sure that the permissions have been set correctly — read permission for
   everybody — and try again.

 * I think you have some corrupted files. Note the “Line 0” that is mentioned. Is
   this a new install? I’d be tempted to delete the files and reupload them and 
   try again.

 * hey, thanks for all the input. I had to go and change the permissions on every
   file, literally. But now everything seems to be running smoothely. Moral of the
   story is that vdeck doesn’t like me and I miss cpanel.

 * I just had the same problem and if you have access directly to the server console,
   through ssh or telnet, I just did ‘chmod 771 www/ -R’ and the -R recursively 
   adds the correct permission.
