installation of plug ins not working

  • I am trying to install a stats plugin and I have uploaded it to my file manager but there is no option to unzip the file. When I go to manage plug ins at wordpress there is no sign of the plugin (I am assuming that it because it isn’t unzipped). I have tried with numerous plugins but none have the unzip option and none show up in manage plug ins.

If someone could explain in very simple terms how to fix this I would greatly appreciate it!

Simple terms: First unzip the plugin.zip onto your PC and then upload the directory and files to wp-content/plugins.

As long as you maintain the wp-content/plugins/your-stats-plugin file structure and the file/directory permissions are good, then the WordPress Plugins page should show that plugin available.

    Thank you so much!

Now if I could just work out how to get rid of the Meta box that is in my theme because I currently have two meta boxes. I prefer the widget one that I put in there from the widget choices…

Thanks again though, especially for putting it in simple terms!
