Installation of Pie register plugin PHP error

    I’m using WP version 3.5.2 when I try to activate the plugin pie register version 1.30 I get the following error “
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home2/XXXX/public_html/wp-content/plugins/pie-register/pie-register.php on line 1974

    See help as i heard great things about this plugin. My site is under user register spam attack.

    does this error occur when youmomentarily switch to the WP default Twenty Twelve theme?

    Thanks for the suggestion as it appears to be an issue with my Theme. After switching to default Twenty Twelve theme then I was able to activate the plugin with no issues. I then switched back to my theme plugin still activated thanks for your help.

    Hi, I just updated the plugin and I’m having the same issue with the error message:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /xxxxx/wp-content/plugins/pie-register/pie-register.php on line 1974

    However, switching to the the default theme didn’t fix it for me. Do you have any other suggestions?

    Same exact problem here with RocketTheme Gantry system…

    Not exactly a solution, but switching to Register Plus Redux worked for me.
