# Installation Information

 * I am trying to install WP on my Mac. I have MAMP installed. I downloaded WP and
   opened the readme file. It says:
 * “Open wp-admin/install.php in your browser. It will take you through the process
   to set up a wp-config.php file with your database connection details.”
 * When I opened that file, there no instructions, only a PHP code file. What did
   I do wrong? Thanks.

 * Sounds like PHP isn’t running on your local server. Check its documentation to
   see how you enable it.

   Help.

   the Software and possibilities. Is it necessary to install als PHP ans Mysql?
