Support » Plugin: WP Event Manager » Installation failure

    Hello,

When i try to activate the plugin i get the following error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/mihauorg/public_html/mihaice/wp-content/plugins/wp-event-manager/core/wp-event-manager-install.php on line 1

Manual installation gives out this error. While the auto installation works, it seems some other plugins can’t tell that WP Event Manager is activated, and still insist that the plugin isn’t active.

I’m trying to get the “WP Events Manager WooCommerce” to work with WP Events Manager. Any idea what’s the issue?

Also, when i view the wp-event-manager-install.php, i see a lot of code being commented out. Is this normal?

    Thanks!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hey Ashok,

Thanks for getting back to me, i litterally downloaded the plugin from here earlier today, and here’s a screenshot of the commented codes in the specific file i mentioned earlier https://prnt.sc/jfcljy This happens right after i activate the plugin. The file gets commented out and i get the fatal error.

Will try to disable other plugins and test it again.

Also, regarding the paid woocommerce listing plugin, my intentions with that plugin is to have a payment gateway integrated with wp event manager. I’m trying to build a registration form where users can chose options and make payment upon submitting the form.

    Thanks,

    Hi @mdanielpk,

I have done plugin installation both way manually and by uploading in admin panel as well as from wordpress plugin list.

You have any plugin conflict or something else on your site.

Please try to debug with wordpress error log.

    Thank you.

    Hey,

Thanks for suggesting checking the wordpress log file. I’ve downloaded the plugin multiple times, tried it on another wordpress installation (offline & local server) both worked fine.

I think something’s wrong with my wordpress installation. Thankfully it’s still new and not much work has gone into it. Will try again and check back on wordpress logs.

    Cheers.
