 * I am trying to connect to the database using XAMPP local server on my machine.
   It looks like I have done everything correct but each time I get the message “
   Error establishing database connection. I checked and rechecked my user name/
   password/my host details that I received from my hosting company. But it wouldn’t
   work. Can someone please help? Thanks.

    wp-config has the details of pw etc. supplied to me by my hosting service
   and I presume install.php would connect to the host company’s database, if that
   is the correct thing to do. Please advise! Thanks again.

 * You can not connect to host server database with your Xampp which is a server
   on your computer.
 * You will need to upload wordpress files and folder on host.
 * Xampp server is used for testing plugins and themes by advanced users and for
   beginners who do not have host account can learn how to use wordpress locally.

 * I am trying to connect my site with DB on my server. Its working fine on localhost..
   I created lots of websites. I dont know where the prblm is.. I changed dbname,
   pwd, username, host but still getting “Error establishing a database connection”.

 * Its working.. I have changed access options on server to “local/remote”..
