• Hello,

I’d like to set my blog up as the home page or index.html, but something didn’t work right.

Unfortunately my host does not have Fantastico, but I was able to set up the MySQL database, change wp-config, ftp all the files up to the same location as my current index.html. And I went through the installation and everything looked fine, able to login, post to the blog.

However I am not able to see the blog. When I go to my home page of the domain, the blog should be there, right? But it was not.

I uninstalled and deleted the MySQL database and redid everything with the same result, it didn’t work right.

Any ideas? By the way my host is DataTide.

    Thanks for your help,

    Mike

What was there? Do you still have your index.html in that place? That’s likely overriding WordPress’ index.php that should be the new index.

You got the loop? I think you might forgot to loop it.

Try deleting your cache / cookies ?

Should I delete the current index.html so the the index.php takes over?

Looping, I’m sure I forgot, I don’t know what that is.

I’ll reinstall it again so I can triple check it and delete my cache. Then I’ll post again to let you know how that went.

    Thanks,

Or, to see if the blog content is even there, simply append an explicit “index.php” to the end of the URL. A reinstall really won’t help you at this point.

    Thanks everyone it works.

I just deleted the index.html and now it go right to the index.php.
