What files exist within your theme folder in /wp-content/themes/ ?
If blogsome files were index.html, etc. (with an html extension), you won’t see those now. You’ll see things like header.php, index.php, sidebar.php, footer.php. They all act like html files, but being .php files allows the theme capability that wp uses, among other things.

This is the content of the Index.html file from unspun.blogsome.com
[useless long code deleted/moderated]
I’ll provide info for the other files if needed. Thanks for your help.

These are the files from my Themes folder copied to the installed on the unspunblog.com
blockquote.png 0 k 0644
bullet.png 0 k 0644
category.php 2 k 0644
comments.php 3 k 0644
date.php 3 k 0644
footer.php 0 k 0644
header.php 0 k 0644
index.php 3 k 0644
post.php 0 k 0644
readme.html 2 k 0644
search.php 2 k 0644
single.php 3 k 0644
style.css 5 k 0644
The index.php thought it shows to be 3k in size is actually blank.
Sounds like your theme download/uncompress/upload might have got corrupted. I’d suggest redownloading the theme itself from the author’s site, unzip fresh, and reupload.
If your index.php is blank, nothing would be showing on your site, btw. Which isn’t the case at all….

Ok I will do that. I kind of figured something must be there but there is nothing I can see in that file when I look at it using the file manager on the CPanel. I’ll download again and reinstall. Be back in a few minutes.

Ok downloaded and reinstalled the Theme. I copied this from the Index.php:
——————————————————————————–
Write about yourself here
RSS’); ?>
RSS’); ?>
XHTML’); ?>
XFN
WP
And that is about all that is there. Is there anyway to copy and paste from the unspun.blogsome.com files to make this work?
Well, yes, you can copy n paste into a PLAIN VANILLA text editor like notepad2 from http://www.flos-freeware.ch, and then copy back into your theme file. However….
When I view source at unspunblog.com, I see everything that should be in the file to make it display what it shows on the main blog page. I’m not pasting it here, because it’s much preferable NOT to paste long code extracts, and you don’t really need to see it anyway.
If you’re trying to edit through the Manage Files section, you might have to change the permissions or something so you don’t see blank files (though I didn’t think that would be a problem…. it’s usually saving that’s a problem if the permissions aren’t right).
In any case, your page displays just fine, so there IS something there in the theme’s files, not sure why you’re seeing them blank.

I agree with what you are saying. What code I am able to see using the file manager on the Cpanel comprises what you see on unspunblog.com. The problem for me is that what you see on unspunblog.com is not the same as what is on unspun.blogsome.com. What I am particularly referring to is what displays on the sidebar, specifically links, authors, and various other things. Also, after having downloaded Subscribe-me I would have thought the icons for the various agregators would show on the sidebar but they also did not show up there though they do show on the options button on the dashboard. So I and the other authors can subscribe to a particular service but if we ever get any readers on our blog they could not. Problems, Problems. And Thanks again!
Hmmm. That’s about the oddest thing I’ve ever heard about File Manager in cPanel (which I use frequently myself, AMOF). I thought you were talking about the editor in wp. I see that’s not the case….
What DO you see if you look at the files in Manage/Files in wp?

I opened the file Index.php using the file editor on the dashboard here is what it shows for that file:
<?php
/* Short and sweet */
define(‘WP_USE_THEMES’, true);
require(‘./wp-blog-header.php’);
?>
If I were to copy Index.html from the unspun.blogsome.com to the Index.php above using the cut and paste function of IE what would that do? What I am saying is using the Manage/file on the blogsome blog copy the various files to each of the index, sidebar, comments, php files on the manage/files on the unspunblog.com???
Nope. Wrong index.php. You need to open the index.php in the theme folder inside /wp-content/themes/. Do you have an FTP program? If not, you should get one (cute ftp, free and pretty decent) so that you can look at the installation as it IS online, so you have an idea where to look for what. You need to become familiar with the way a wp installation is set up….
Oh. I CANNOT advise copy n paste from blogsome to any of the “normal” wp files….

I do have an FTP client on the control panel. Will that do the job or do I need something like cute.ftp? Also an additional bit of info. If I switch themes and go to the default theme it shows the links I have established through the dashboard but it does not show the results of installing subscribe-me.
I’ll download an FTP client and see what that does for me.
Yep, do that, and post back, okay? If I don’t see it later, I’ll catch it tomorrow….

Ok I now have a working FTP client. Core FTP lite. should work I would think. Yes that makes quite a bit of difference in what you can see as far as the structure and content.
