Support » Installing WordPress » Install WP on root but with dif Python app home page?

  • We have an online application that was developed in Python and it is our home page, its for a booking scheduling system. The rest of the pages for the website are all wordpress except for the home page. Currently the wp pages are installed on a subdomain that is having the subdomain stripped out by a proxy server so that it is presented as the root domain path.

I would like to be able to install wordpress on either the root and still assign the application page as the home page instead of wordpress, OR install it on a subfolder and not include the subfolder name (/subfolder name/page name) in the url.

Is there a way to do either one of these so we can get rid of the proxy server?

    very awesome

The normal way that I’d do this is to set up the server to serve the default directory index file as your Python file first, and the WordPress index.php file second. That way the server will run the Python file for any home requests, and everything else will run through WordPress.
