# Install WordPress on Sub Folder

 * Hi, I recently purchased a wordpress hosting plan from Online and through cPanel(
   Note: I was not using cPanel hosting before, and used to manually FTP upload 
   the site). I installed wordpress on my domain through cPanel. But, it got installed
   on my main domain, rather than sub folder. How should I **install wordpress on
   sub folder** of my domain? Should I first create a sub-folder through FTP and
   then install wordpress, or while installing wordpress, I should put [http://www.example.com/subfolder/](http://www.example.com/subfolder/)
   into the URL field? Which one works the best solution?

 * Start by creating the sub-directory in FTP.
 * Then, either delete the old installation and re-install it in the sub-directory(

 * thanks James, I’ll re-install. I’m even trying to re-install in subfolder through
   one-click wordpress app that came with cPanel.
