Support » Installing WordPress » Install seemed to go OK, but … Login errors

  • The install seemed to go OK, and I was offered a new password, but at Login I get this error in a grey alert box: “Internet explorer cannot download from wp-admin/…domain”

My wordPress does not seem to recognise the default paths or links. However, if I tap in …/blog/index.php the blog appears, and I can edit pages etc., but the links on RHS still do not work. If I change the links in admin/settings I loose the CSS

I have read loads of stuff now, but…

    Any ideas appreciated

    Thank you

  • Oh, I am on the latest version (A few days old) and the password is also emailed to me OK, if this makes much diff?

Also, CHMOD is set on 777 just now, although I know 757 is safer, and I paln to put it back to this shortly

These turned out to be htaccess file errors, which are now corrected

We created htaccess files for wordpress to resolve the issue

    Thank you
