I followed these great directions (you know, the 5 min one’s…) :
and and installed WP on the root directory of my site. After (5 min and 4 hours – my first time using a DB, excuses..excuses..) I was finally able to get to this screen (YES!):
But (sadly…), when I continued to the next page and entered my weblog Title/email address, even though I was able to get a WP login an PW,
it showed a long page full of repeating error messages like these (here’s where it get’s ugly…):
Warning: preg_match() expects parameter 2 to be string, array given in /home/mbs/public_html/wp-admin/upgrade-functions.php on line 336
WordPress database error: [Table ‘mbs_mbsbloggerDB.wp_options’ doesn’t exist]
SELECT option_name FROM wp_options WHERE option_name = ‘siteurl’
Hmmmm…..And since I tried this several times, I have generated several passwords also.
but no matter at this point – one problem at a time -as the
Login address (link)
only gives me this:
(Also it seems that the WP files I placed on the root directory of my site have knocked out my (index.htm) website. )
What to do? should I not have placed the WP files on the same directory level as a html website?
can anyone let me know why I cannot login to the admin area and get this puppy going
What’s wrong with this picture?
(Sorry I cannot be more technical about the situation…)
