About page post shifts right

    Hi,
    I installed a test version site a week ago, and just now installed a new site, and am having the same problem.

    I created an about page, as well as an about2 page to make sure that the problem was the same.

    I have all plug-ins inactive.

    The contents of the pages shift to the right. I thought it may have been lack of widgets, but placing items on the right doesn’t help.

    Hi there Don,
    I just had a quick look, it looks like you’ve got the theme set to 2 columns.
    If you head to Appearances>Customise>Theme Options from the wp-admin page you should see a radio button for Page Layout, there you can select One Column which will give you a single column look.

    Hope that makes sense.

    yes it sure makes sense, but there is no option button to select one column that I can see

    I think I have been to every menu twice.

    is 2016 and it is fine, so that may be my simple answer, as I think I will be getting a thrive theme. But I can’t see a one column option.

    I’ll play with 2016, and see how it goes.

    Thank you for your help, it at least steered me in the correct direction. seems to be a bug in 2017.

    it took me overnight to think about it and try again, but I eventually found the theme options and set it to one column.

    AHa!!!!

    To get the theme options menu to appear, you need to select a page, not a post, and the option pops up.

    Well thats a good one to know! I suppose that makes sense because the theme option is for pages not for posts… but yea tricky one!
    Should probably mark this Solved then ay?
