  • In your site’s control panel login to phpmyadmin.
Click on the database to work on. There should only be a few tables there with icons beside them. Hover over the icons until you get the “drop” icon. Drop all of the tables.
    Re-install.

    Thanks for the help.

    I got this far:

“In your site’s control panel login to phpmyadmin.”

    I do not understand this:

“Click on the database to work on.”

Which database? There are several in the drop down menu.

I also do not understand what you mean by this:

“There should only be a few tables there with icons beside them. Hover over the icons until you get the “drop” icon. Drop all of the tables.”

What is a table with and icon? How will I identify it?

    Thanks, Ken

    Ken,

Let me see if I can help you out. When you’re in phymyadmin, you’ll see that drop-down box on the left with different databases within, assuming you’ve created more than one.

All you have to do is select the one you created and are using for WP. After that is selected, the different tables will come up (ex. wp-posts, categories, etc.

Drop those tables. That deletes those tables.

    Now just go to http://your-site.com/wp-admin/install.php

If that doesn’t work, just delete the database you created for WP and start anew.

i reinstalled everything and it works. Thanks for the help!
