Support » Plugin: WP Staging - DB & File Duplicator & Migration » install.php instead of login to Staging Site

  • Resolved tbe2019

i have a staging site (did work fine) and I wanted to login, but it redirects me always to the wordpress installation respectivly to this link

    What happend before:
I had a problem with a maintenance plugin and iThemes Security on the main page (not staging). I couldn’t login anymore, just the Maintenance Site showed up. So I deactivated all plugins. When I deactivated iThemes Security everything was fine and I could login again (with Maintenance enabled).

But now, I cannot login anymore to my staging site.

Any idea what I can do to get the login back. When I click on open in the staging Plugin the above link shows up.

Im using the lastest wordpress version 5.0.3 . Plugins are up to date.

    Thanks for any help

    Hello Tanja,

this happens when something has been changed on the staging site as well.

It looks like the wp-config.php is missing on the staging site. Please verify if it is still there or missing.

You can also contact me contact me directly at the link below if you want me to have a look at that issue

    For anyone with similar issues:

If you use a maintenance plugin which claims to clean up your database, take care that this plugin is not going to delete any database tables beginning with the prefix wpstg_
All these tables belong to your staging sites and must not be deleted at all.

If you notice one of these maintenance plugins ever deleted your staging site database tables please let this know the developer of the maintenance plugin and let us know the name of that maintenance plugin so that we can warn other users of wp staging.

As always: Take care whenever you use any external plugin that claims to clean up your database or is going to remove orphaned data from it. Never use such a plugin without an up to date backup of your entire database!
