• I installed WordPress the other day and didn’t have any problems. I had to reinstall it because I didn’t write down the site admin password.
So today I am trying to reinstall it and getting a can’t connect to database printed on the web page.
I renamed and edited the wp-config.php file. I inserted all of the keys. I did a localhost/wordpress in my browser and localhost/wordpress/wp-admin and get the same error. Error establishing database connection.
While I am here which one should I be going to localhost/wordpress or localhost/wordpress/wp-admin?
I have created a database and a user for that database. The user has all privileges.
    I am at a loss.
    Thanks
    Mark

  • Mark, have you checked by login to your database directly using same login details which you have used in wp-config.php file? May be there is permission problem with localhost. Use phpmyadmin and login.
