# Install fails

 * Every time I click Install Now on my site (GoDaddy host) I get the following 
   server error. Help?
 * Internal Server Error
 * The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to
   complete your request.
    Please contact the server administrator to inform of 
   the time the error occurred and of anything you might have done that may have
   caused the error.
 * More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

 * Hi Steve,
 * Just when you ‘install’ – i.e. not ‘activate’ ?
 * When WP installs a plugin, it doesn’t run any plugin code (no plugin code gets
   run until you activate) – it only downloads the plugin zip, and unzips its contents
   into the directory wp-content/plugins. So, if that fails, it’s likely to be a
   problem in your WP setup – perhaps a lack of disk space, or a permissions problem.
   You can install a plugin manually by doing the same manually – i.e. download 
   the zip to your PC, unzip it, and upload the resulting directory into wp-content/
   plugins by FTP.

 * Hi David,
    I too have the same problem. When I installed UpdraftPlus Backup and
   Restoration 1.11.1 It’s saying as Downloading install package from [https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/updraftplus.1.11.1.zip…](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/updraftplus.1.11.1.zip…)
 * Unpacking the package…
 * Installing the plugin…
 * Destination folder already exists. G:/PleskVhosts/hbschandigarh.com/ELMINDIA.
   IN/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/
 * Plugin install failed.
 * I did doing manually and uploaded the plugin. But it’s still saying as system
   error. Could you please help me to upload it well. Thank you
