Support » Plugin: Fancier Author Box by ThematoSoup » Instagram/custom social networks

Just installed this plugin and it is fantastic. Definitely one of the best free plugins I’ve ever used. Does exactly what I need extremely simply. I just have one thing I can’t work out though. I would very much like to get Instagram as one of the Social networks. Is there a way to do this at all? If not I think think this would be a great feature for a future update (not that I’m trying to tell you how to do your job!). Perhaps even just a custom option where people can insert their own image and link, so you can cover all the multiple social options in one swoop. Even if it was only available in the paid for version (which I will not mention out of respect for purpose of the wordpress forum), it would certainly make me willing to buy it.

Thanks for your great work, and please do let me know if getting instagram into the box is currently possible.

Thanks for your kind words! User feedback means more to us than you’d think. And trust me, telling us how to do our job by using constructive criticism or advice, always a good thing.

Anyway, I just added Instagram, Flickr, Pinterest, Tumblr, Vimeo and YouTube, using beautiful icons created by our designer Goran 🙂

We are planning a major update to both plugins, but because of other projects we’re currently working on, it won’t happen before September (probably second half of the month). You can follow us or subscribe to our mailing list if you’d like to get updates on that.

Actually, still being submitted (having problems with my internet connection), but 1.1 should be available in a few minutes.

Thanks for the response. Looks great, and works perfectly. I have subscribed and will look forward to the major update when it comes.
