I have a few sites using your plugin and at some time over the past week they have (all but one) lost the instagram account connection. I think the common factor seems to be that they are all business accounts.

It’s nothing that I’ve done in terms of updates, and I see this across various plugin versions 2.9.8, 2.9.7 and 6.0.1.

At the same time I have a personal site on 2.9.9 which is working just fine.

I’ve connected up a test site to 6.0.1 with a business account (fresh setup) and it all seems to work fine.

Are you aware of any API changes or actions by Instagram / Facebook / Meta which could have caused this? And is it likely to impact other sites which are currently working?

    Hey @cgreen177,

Thank you for reaching out to us for assistance. There was an issue in versions below 2.9.10 where personal accounts were incorrectly being purged from the plugin. This was fixed in 2.9.10 and above. As you mention you are using Business Profiles, so it would not be related to that. Instead, it may be that you have corrected one connection and in doing so, changed the connection setting between our app and your Facebook account. For each site with an issue, please go to reconnect the source. When sent to Facebook, click the Edit Settings button. You will want to select all accounts, all pages, and all permissions. This is due to there being a single connection between our app and your account, and this is not individual for each different site. Only in the last step when sent back to your site do you select the specific account(s) you want to be connected there, and save the changes.

I hope this helps get you set back up. If you have further issues, these may be related to the recent encryption features added to our plugin that may require additional wp-config.php configuration. Let me know if you do still have problems and I can help you look into that.

    Best regards.

Thanks for the reply – when I invetsigated and upgraded to the latest versions, the accounts I have come across are actually personal ones so far. So it looks like it it the bug in the plugin to blame. Useful info though as I still have one site (2.9.9) working so I will want to get that upgraded asap.
