  • hello dear wordpress-experts,

for inspecting themes: which are the best tools: FireBug or Chrome-developer-tools?

which tools are more appropiate: using Chrome developer tools with WordPress or using FireBug?

well – can you explain why we should use chrome devel-tools instead of fireBug!?

  • Firefox has its own built-in developer tools now, and you don’t really need Firebug. You’re probably going to be using both Firefox and Chrome with their corresponding developer tools to inspect themes, because you’ll probably be doing cross-browser testing. I think which one is “best” is really dependent on a) personal preference; and b) which browser is having the issue you’re trying to debug.

    hello dear linux4me2

many many thanks for all your great and intersting ideas. your posting is very helpful…

I find both Firefox and Chrome to provide very good inspection tools, but as pointed out by @linux4me2, you’ll probably have multiple browsers installed for cross-browser testing so it really comes down to personal preference.

Firefox also provides a few extra useful tools via the icons in the top-right corner (screenshot taker, colorpicker ..) which removes the need for 3rd-party browser extensions/addons.

Hello dear ThemeSumo many thanks for the hints / and the advices. Great to hear from you!

Well – you have given me great tips regarding the mouse-over ( at the page: http://www.literaturen.org )
i am glad – this works great. Your solution is overwhelming.

one question: can i do some same effects in the wordpress – in a widget with this page
    https://kvk.bibliothek.kit.edu/?digitalOnly=0&embedFulltitle=0&newTab=0

in other words – can i do some integration in the page: can i add this above metioned page in a widget
    and …”on mouse over”

…. look forward to hear from you
    regards say
