    Hi Tobias,
Thanks for an excellent plugin, couldn’t live without it.
I noticed that the add link function leaves out the topic of the link now, is that on purpose or unintentional?

when you add a link it looks like this:
    <a href="http://domain.com/mypage/"></a>
When earlier it looked like this:
    <a href="http://domain.com/mypage/">My Page</a>

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

I assume that you mean the case when you select “Existing content” in the “Insert link” dialog? The behavior to not automatically include a link text was made directly by WordPress and not by TablePress. Therefore, I can not change this πŸ™
You will basically just have to type in the desired link text into the corresponding field in that dialog or type it in right before the </a> part after inserting the link into a table cell.

    Tobias

Thanks for the reply Tobias, I assume this change was then made in v.4.2 as it worked well in all the previous versions.
Well, just a bit more typing no big deal πŸ™‚

Still, a big thanks for making TablePress.

    Hi Tom,

yes, correct. This happened in WordPress 4.2.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!

Tobias, sorry to add to this. I’m on TablePress 1.6 on WP 4.2.2 on a multi-site install and my users still seem to be having the problem with the modal for the “Insert Link” action not submitting or doing anything. I’ve been doing their links for them as a workaround, but I’d like to figure out how to resolve. Should I try manually updating the view-edit.php file as you discussed earlier? Is there another solution? Thanks!

    All the best,
    Joan

    Hi Joan,

sorry to hear that you are also having problems here.

TablePress uses the regular WordPress “Insert Link” dialog here, which was slightly changed in WordPress 4.2.
As you are using the latest versions already, there are no manual changes in that view-edit.php necessary.

Now, if the dialog is not doing anything, I can only assume that something is interfering with the JavaScript code. Could you therefore maybe try again on a test site with just TablePress activated and a WordPress default theme like TwentyFifteen?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Tobias, just following up on this. I’m having the same problem on the multisite install with a new dev site I set up using no other plugins and the Twenty Fifteen theme.

But I did notice now in the console that I’m getting an error when it tries to load tp_wplink.min.js?ver=1.5.1:1 from the TablePress directory. Is that possibly an outdated version call? If so, how do I resolve?

    Plugin Author TobiasBg

    (@tobiasbg)

    Hi,

yes, that’s indeed an outdated call. Just to be sure: Are you using TablePress 1.6? Can you maybe re-install it from a fresh download, just to make sure that nothing has been left behind from the old version?

    Regards,
    Tobias

It’s showing as 1.6 in the plugin list. I can certainly delete and reinstall; I’m assuming all my table content is in the database and won’t be affected, correct?

    Plugin Author TobiasBg

    (@tobiasbg)

    Hi,

that would be great. Yes, table is is all stored in the database, so nothing to worry about there.

    Regards,
    Tobias

That worked perfectly. Must have been some weirdness on one of my previous upgrades or something. Thank you so much for your quick support and all your help. (And for a great tool that allows my users to do a lot of work that I’d otherwise have to do for them!)

    Hi,

great! That’s good to hear! Yes, most likely not every file was updated properly then, during the first update, for some reason.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

P.S.: In case you haven’t, please rate TablePress here in the plugin directory. Thanks!
