By Advanced settings, are you referring to the text edit mode for posts and pages, or are you talking about trying to add one of the Link Library shortcodes in the before and after fields in the Advanced tab of the Library Settings section of Link Library?

I am trying to add the shortcode of a third party plugin in the advanced tab of the library settings

I see. Indeed, shortcodes are not currently supported in advanced settings. I never had someone ask me for this before. I can look at enabling them in the coming week. What type of third-party information are you trying to displayed with your links?

Oh so sorry about it! I was trying to add a visitor rating shortcode, so the visitors can rate the link. But it is not urgent, it just would be fun 🙂 The in-build rating system is only for admin right, not for visitors I think

Thinking a bit more about your requests. If you insert a single shortcode before after all links using the advanced settings, how will that shortcode be able to generate unique ranking controls for each item? You will likely end up with the exact same control for all items, as it won’t know which item it is related to. Is there normally a set of arguments for the shortcode when using it in other places?
