• This is probably a feature request, but when a user uploads an audio file through the WordPress Media interface, would it be possible to convert links to the [ powerpress ] shortcode when inserting links into a post/page?

I just installed PowerPress on my company’s web site and for months they’ve just been inserting the media directly through the “Insert Media” button. Since there is no button for PowerPress in the editor to insert a media file with the shortcode, perhaps you can just hook and replace the inserted link.

What you want is to enable the “auto add media”, which will convert a media link that is in your blog post content to a podcast episode. Go to PowerPress Settings, basic settings tab, under “Show Advanced Episode Entry Settings”, check the box for “auto add media”.

When you create your next blog post, simply use the uploader, insert the link to the media file in to your blog post, when you save, it will auto create the podcast episode.

Just a word of caution, you should not host your podcast media on the same server as your web site. Learn more about podcast media hosting from our Podcasting Manual: http://create.blubrry.com/manual/internet-media-hosting/
