Title: Insert link / hyperlink not working Last modified: August 20, 2016 --- # Insert link / hyperlink not working * [homegrowndotorg](https://wordpress.org/support/users/homegrowndotorg/) * (@homegrowndotorg) * [14 years, 3 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/insert-link-hyperlink-not-working/) * I just updated to 3.3.1 yesterday, and now when I highlight text in visual mode >click the insert/edit link icon>paste in a url>hit add link it simply returns me to the list of posts and the link is not inserted. I have deactivated all plugins and manually re-installed the update using Filezilla (while deleting my wp-content folder first). Also, when I try to update any of the plug-ins, the page goes blank and hangs (but that’s another issue I guess) I am also using a custom theme. Help! I have changed the theme and deactivated all plug-ins. I’ve changed the theme to Twenty Twelve and reset plug-ins, then tried on two different machines using Safari and Firefox. This has been happening since I updated to 3.3.1 a week ago today.
