# Inline Link 404 Error & No Email

 * I’ve got Contact 7 forms installed and DL Monitor. When I enter the DL Monitor
   shortcode, I can download the link. (You can test this with the Test eBook link
   in the text above the form.) The link is [http://vikencapital.com/download/test-ebook](http://vikencapital.com/download/test-ebook)
 * The inline link appears after I submit the form, but it goes to a 404 error. 
   The link from the EBD inline link is [http://www.vikencapital.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/download.php?dl=96c9c0cb48c179780ee247a00e0d1448](http://www.vikencapital.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/download.php?dl=96c9c0cb48c179780ee247a00e0d1448).
 * I’ve tried Chrome & Firefox. I’m also not getting any emails.
 * Any ideas?

 * It looks like your site is giving 404 errors when trying to access .php programs
   from non-localhost. In other words, WordPress can access .php programs in your
   wp-content/plugins directory, but if you try to access them from some other system
   then your system gives a 404.
 * You can confirm this by using your browser and trying to go to:
    [http://www.vikencapital.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/checkcurl.php](http://www.vikencapital.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/checkcurl.php)
   which will give a 404, even though it shouldn’t. That’s true of all the .php 
   programs in that directory. However, you can access the readme.txt that’s in 
   there: [http://www.vikencapital.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/readme.txt](http://www.vikencapital.com/wp-content/plugins/email-before-download/readme.txt)
 * That means something in your configuration is doing that. Most of the time, it’s
   some security plugin that drops an .htaccess file in your plugins or wp-content
   or something like that. Or, it could be configuration in your webserver config
   file. Or, it could be that your hosting company is running some sort of security
   program that does that. You’ll have to try and track down what’s causing and/
   or where it’s happening….
