 * Actually this post is about three different questions.
 * 1- INLINE AND DEFER CSS
    It does work with sitelocity, but on some page the exit
   pop-up I have just don’t show the content.
 * 2- I was wondering if it was « normal » if my website breaks after I update it(
   make changes on it). It returns to « normal » if I re-update it, but I know it
   is due to Auto-Optimize (never notice it when Autoptimize if off).
 * 3- REMOVED UNUSED CSS
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Finline-and-defer-css-5%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)
   to see the link]_

 * Sorry about the 3rd question. I typed « Enter » by mistake. So my question is
   fairly simple. I know it is not possible to remove unused CSS in Autoptimize,
   but was wondering if any plugin would do it without breaking my website.

 * 1. if not OK with sitelocity you’ll have to try another tool or tweak the Critical
   CSS yourself?
 * 2. changes to the immediately visible part of your pages will require the “above
   the fold”-CSS
 * 3. no, afraid not. doing so would also have some negative effects (e.g. the fact
   that whereas normally the optimized CSS is re-used over different pages, when
   removing unused CSS it would be different for every page).
 * hope this helps,
    frank

 * Ok tks for the reply [@optimizingmatters](https://wordpress.org/support/users/optimizingmatters/).
   Very quick.
 * 1- Ok, understood.
 * 2- Maybe my question wasn’t clear, it wasn’t about above the fold css. What I
   noticed is that sometimes, when I make change on my website, sometimes it breaks.
   I re-save it and works fine. Just wondering if this is normal.
 * 3- Ok, understood.
 * Tks again for the quick answers.

 * re. 2; no, not normal. how does your site break? and what kind of changes are
   we talking about here?

 * About editing my website. Let’s say I had a new widget or edit a section, whatever.
   Sometimes the website just won’t show the images after the updates and the text
   will not be formatted for example.

 * sounds like files (images/ css) not loading correctly. next time have a look
   in your browser’s developer tools to see what is happening under the hood?
