Inject blog functions into xhtml site

    I did a search and found this thread: topic 123528, which is informative but doesn’t explain what I want to do.

    The above explains how to add a blog to an existing site, but I want to add blog functionality to page structures that I want to keep (for instance to add a comment function to a page that I don’t want in my blog “section”).

    I understand the concept of “wordpress pages” but this isn’t what I want to do.

    I hope someone understands my question!
