Support » Plugin: WP Store Locator » Initial Zoom Set to World Map

  • I want to know is there any hook or filter or is there any option to control the zoom level. I have enabled the auto detect option for user location. The only issue i have if the user don’t want to share his/her location then a starting point which can be set from the plugin settings is used. The only problem i am facing that is it zooms in so much which i don’t want, i want to show the initial starting point but the map should display the other countries as well.

This view i am looking for the extra zoom is causing an issue.

Currently i have this view on page load.

Although there are zoom control options but they are not effective and there is no change in the result.

Also i have noted that auto detect option works in Mozilla browser in chrome browser it do not works. Will the auto detect option will work on the mobile phones?

I will highly appreciate your help in this regard and look forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,
    Sameer

  • I had the opposite problem (needed to zoom in further initially) and sent an implementation yesterday (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/additionaloverrideafter-zoom-level-for-large-cluster-of-locations/).

Simply changing the $min from 0 to say -10 in the wpsl_get_after_zoom_levels() function and selecting a negative # will accomplish what you’re after (just tested it out).

Hopefully he will include it in the next update :).

    Hi Brain,

Thank you very much for your help. I have seen the screenshots it looks all those changes needs to be done in the plugin files and if the plugin is updated in near future my changes will be overridden and will be lost. Is there any safe way of adding these changes to the plugin maybe through filter or hook to keep my custom changes safe when plugin is updated.

    Thanks,

    Hi Sameer,

There is no way that I can see to add this functionality without modifying the core plugin files directly. This is why I’m asking Tijmen (the developer) to include it with the next update.

    Hi Brain,

Yes you are right the feature must be included in the next update of the theme. The plugin looks to be well maintained the plugin author should have added this feature as well. It looks that the plugin author is not active on support forum.

Do the share location feature works on smartphones and mobile devices. Have you checked and tested this feature?

    Best Regards,
    Sameer

    Hi Sameer,

The plugin author is active on the forum. He just replied to some threads a few hours ago. I sent him the changes to the plugin and he should be including it soon.

The share location feature works fine on every device I’ve tried so far.

    Hi Brain,

Thank you once again, i think you as a participant is more active than the plugin author on the support forum 🙂 . Is there any estimated time when this feature will be added since WordPress new version is also released and plugin needs to be updated as well to 4.8 version so i hope during update this feature can be added as well.

    Have a great day!!

    Thank You,
    Sameer

No problem. I don’t know when the next release will be but he should be including the feature in it. Until then I can send you a copy of the plugin with the feature added if you’d like. Just give me an email to send it to.

    Hi Brain,

I apologize for a delay in response. You can provide the copy on this thread if you don’t want then you can send me at this email sameerrajput218@gmail.com. I highly appreciate your cooperation and assistance. I will also urge author to add this feature in the next update since it is essential. Have a great day!!

    Thanks,
    Sameer

    Hi Sameer,

No problem at all, happy to help out. I’ll send it to your gmail. Under the Store Locator Settings you should see the added “After zoom level” field. Try different negative values until you get the zoom you’re after. Let me know if you have any issues.
