Initial Impression of WordPress

OK, I don’t have much experience of WordPress and blogging systems in general but have set up some BBs and CMS so have a bit of knowledge of setting things up and fine-tuning them.

My first thought was how easy it was to install and set up compared to some other systems. After plugging in my database parameters and uploading the files and running the installer, it was there running without a glitch! Even installing themes is quite painless.

There are some things that I am still figuring out how to do and a few concepts to get to grips with plus a slight unease that the Settings pages don’t allow me to configure to the level of granularity found on other systems but, on the whole, I am impressed with WordPress and look forward to working further with it.
