 * Hey all,
 * First time wordpress user here with a very simple question. How do I change the
   text in my custom theme? I know uploading media may require a permission change(
   755, etc.), but am I mistaken in believing that I should be able to change the
   text and headers that come with my custom theme without any permission change?
 * Any and all clarification is much appreciated!

 * Content is managed separately from your theme, is it content you are trying to
   change or is this text on the actual theme template files?

 * Thanks for responding!
 * It’s text on the actual theme template files. For example, the text that comes
   ready with a theme like this:
 * [https://wordpress.org/themes/alexandria](https://wordpress.org/themes/alexandria)
 * Mine still has the theme name on the top with generic phrases across the slider.
